Visit of Los Abuelos!

We had a wonderful time visiting neat sites with los abuelos.

We went to Otavalo, a small town north of Quito, home to the indigenous group that gave the town its name. We visited the central market.

We made a pitstop to eat bizcochos (local biscuits) in Cayambe.

From their we went to beautiful Lagoon Cuicocha where we enjoyed typical food and took a boat ride.

We spent a glorious day in the park around Antisana mountain. It was clear and the whole mountain was in full site.

We saw tons of interesting birds, a large herd of sheep with their shepherd, and other animals.

We stopped at the former home of Wilhelm Humboldt, the German explorer known for groundbreaking research about Antisana.

More about eating shortly....
